An Author of a Classic Dies: Johnny Hart

This was my favorite comic strip when I was growing up.  And my very first set of matching glasses for my very first apartment were the B.C. glasses you got at Arby's when you bought a large Coke. Martha Stewart had nothing on me. 

Now my kids enjoy Calvin and Hobbes (uuhhhh...in between reading War and Peace and Shakespeare...gotta keep up my good home school image...) and I have been thinking that they might get a laugh or two from B.C. as we study creation. Now that I see Hart has passes away I think I'll actually put some wheels behind my brain wave.

It's interesting that ANSWERS IN GENESIS has an article about him. I don't know much about Hart's religious beliefs, but I do remember that a lot of his comics featured the 'humorous' side of God and creation vs. evolution. Of course, when I was a kid - a product of public school, mind you, I didn't know there was a debate. We came from goo with fins and that was that.

It's too bad, really. They don't make them like these any more.

Song That Always Makes You Cry: "Don't Want to Lose You Now" Gloria Estefan. That song came out right after my husband, then fiance, left to go overseas for a year.

Songs About Your Kid/s: Michael Card's CD, "Sleep Sound In Jesus" I played that for each of them when they were babies.

Song That Reminds You Of Your Husband:  "Danger Zone" from Top Gun. When he found out he got aviation (Navy) I came home and found him in front of the television watching the movie at about 400 decibels.  "Thank You" by Dido.  That song describes us perfectly...well, except for the "drank too much" part.

Favorite Christmas Song:  "Baby It's Cold Outside" Dean Martin. When my boys here that they know the Christmas decorations are coming out!

Homesick

  The sky /weather in western Washington doesn't really change much.  My son's weather chart of the last few weeks can attest to this fact.
